This piece is written to assure you that you are never alone. As a believer, you must never give in to the lies and deceit of the world. Isaiah 40:28 says, “Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? GOD doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine…” (MSG)

Therefore, it is not only wrong to ignore God, who has given such great assurance, who is always present and full of love, it is also pride. Choosing to make decisions, no matter how big or small, without involving God is not the kind of life he has called you to live.

Isaiah 62 explains clearly who we are and the life God has called us to: “They will be called The Holy People, Redeemed by the Lord. And you will be called Sought After—A City That Is Not Abandoned.” (Isaiah 62:12)

Newness Because We Are Loved

What an honor it is to be loved by God and to be assured of our right standing with him! Without the death of his son, Jesus Christ, we would not have access to these realities, this life of righteousness, or the task of reconciling men to Christ.

There is no need to beat around the bush; we believers are the ones who have received a new name because we believe in the one God sent. As a result, everything 1 Peter 2:9 says is ours to hold on to:

Owned by God, for His Glory

Now, instead of being broken or lonely, we are being built up as vessels for his glory. Every disadvantage we had outside of him has been turned into an advantage for us. What a loving father we have!

Our newness comes with a free gift that sets us apart in the world; signs that show we belong to God. Ephesians 1:3 says, “How we praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every blessing in heaven because we belong to Christ.”

Consider this: when we are owned by God, is there anything on this earth he would not give us if it is needed? No! There is nothing. We are his very own, loved afresh every day.

Scripture reminds us in Lamentations 3:22–23 that his compassion never ends. It is only the Lord’s mercies that have kept us from complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his loving-kindness begins afresh each day. Glory to God!

Living in the Consciousness of This Love

To fully live out this reality, we must remain conscious of who we are in Christ. Just like a man with a billion dollars would still think like a poor man if he were unaware of his wealth, we can live outside of this reality even when we already have it.

Therefore, we must be conscious that we are never alone or forsaken. This is all because of God’s love and the amazing newness we have received in him: from abandoned to sought after.
