TMGM

As declared by our man of God, September is our month of Praise!!! One major characteristic of this month is offering God praises directly from our hearts and mouths, and in doing this, we must not grumble or complain. You know, it is easy to say “thank you Jesus” but deep down, you are slightly worried, agitated, or anxious. And this is what Pastor admonished us to beware of.

Someone is asking, “how exactly do I thank God with all of my heart and not grumble, especially when things do not look like it?” This can only be done by the spirit of God and understanding. Understanding what? Understanding your identity but also understanding that all God does is for your good. Let’s look briefly at a scriptural reference.

Ephesians 1: 3. It says, let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! For in our union with Christ he has blessed us by giving us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world.

Two very important identities we have is based on our union with Christ and it is vital to our existence as believers. It is Righteousness and Sonship. Note that everything we have and have become is as a result of these two concepts.  2 Corinthians 5:17 says, therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. The emphasis is on all things are become new. Immediately this union was activated with Christ at salvation, everything changed. It was a transaction of buy one, get a million things free.

Hallelujah!

Consequently, we are now viewed under a new light, under God’s lenses, we are perfect, just, and free of condemnation. Again, because of our sonship, we always have access to God. Yes, we have access to his thoughts about all situations (1 Corinthians 2:16). Not just that, we have access to all that God has access to, and what exactly does God have access to? EVERYTHING and EVERYONE! Such an amazing reality indeed! It is therefore, of essence that you always remember these two privileges you have when giving thanks.

Understanding them deeply will put everything in perspective for you. You begin to give thanks that you are royalty with access to the King of Kings and maker of the universe and all in it. Much more, there is an assurance that ALL things are working for your good. Why? You know that these are the exact thoughts God has for you. So, irrespective of the situation, when giving thanks you are conscious of such heavenly spiritual blessings. Being explicit again, you are conscious that these spiritual blessings indefinitely translate to physical blessings.

Indeed, blessed be God who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. Hallelujah!
