Just as Pastor would quote, “Salvation is just a means to an end and not the end.” Our salvation is much more than simply being saved; it also involves a renewal of the mind. To be able to share God with the world, we must first mature and gain a deeper understanding of Him. As a result, insights comes into play.

What is insight?

“Ephesians 1:17-19 AMPC

[17]  [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, [18]  By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), [19]  And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength. ”

Insight is a deeper understanding of God, His ways, His will, and His principles. It involves gaining deeper knowledge into God’s mysteries and secrets. Additionally, insights benefit us spiritually in that it:

  • helps us correctly perceive God’s will and way.
  • makes us aware of the wealth of our inheritance.
  • provides us with a concrete understanding of God.
  • allows us to see ourselves as God does.
  • Brings discernment—the ability to judge well and know the right from wrong.

Glory to Jesus!! Oh, what beautiful things insights bring!!!

Despite all the wonderful things that insights offer, it does not simply appear while we are still preoccupied with the outside world and not making any effort to obtain it. According to Romans 12:1-2, it occurs when a person prioritises God and allows the change to occur from the inside out rather than concentrating on worldly things and conforming to them.

“[1-2] So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”

To gain insights (deeper understanding), we focus on God and the things around him. We are to behold God through prayer and his word, as discussed in 2 Corinthians 3:18.

“[18]  And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.”

Beloved, the more you behold God, the more you become like Him. With God’s insights, we can be confident that we are the best version of ourselves. In addition to knowing God for ourselves, we are also prepared to help spread the gospel throughout the world.

Glory to Jesus for this INSIGHTFUL month of November!
